So you want to drive for Schneider?

I'm looking into IC now but I don't want to lease from the company that feeds me. Just saving some cash so I can get my own truck outright. I need 40-50k and right now I'm at 18K. I finger by the end of the year I might be able to make a move. I've talked with other IC's and they seem real happy with their choice.

 

This must be old? I drive OTR 48 state and most of what you say isnt accurate from where im at and seen. Also all manned operating centers still have training schools of 10 to 25 students, and its free!! With a 1 year commitment with Schneider. Trucks are ok, if you get a turd your dispatch (dbl) will usually get you a new one. Theyre pay depends on your miles!! I dont like the 61mph garbage but overall I like this company.

 

Fontana doesn't have a school any longer. You have to go to a SNI approved school. No commitment.

 

Wisconsin, Arkansas, south Carolina, texas, Indiana and ohio have training schools. its odd fontana doesn't. seems every other trucking company trains from there. Oh well. I enjoy Schneider better than england by far. The one thing I can complain about is randomness of checks. After insurance for me n wife, I bring home 800+ solo van, then ill get in an area where freight is coming in but not out. Then I end up with a $100 check, sometimes 2 in a row like that. Not very dependable.

 

Indiana does not have a school. They work with a local school. I was under the impression Schneider doesn't have any in-house schools at this time.

 

There is no school at schneider. You have to go to one of there approved to get reimbursed.

 

my question is have you worked for schneider and do yo know this info is true or not

 

Hawk---Schneider no longer has a truck driving school. They have a 3 week orientation once you get your CDL. Week 1 is mostly skills with some admin, week 2 is with a Training Engineer and week 3 is Qualcomm training, skills and testing. You get paid while attending orientation I think $80 a day. If you have 6 months with another company than orientation is I think 3 days. I currently drive for Schneider and attended orientation in California. They do reimburse for Truck Driving school at a rate of $150 a month

 

thanks I am thinking about coming back out on the road. I have not driven since 2010 but am looking hard at Schneider.

 

I cannot complain. I drive Team with my son and we have averaged 6000 miles a week or 24000 a month. We go two weeks out with 3 days at home. Looking at a Dedicated route that will bring us home 2 days a week. Everything my recruiter told me I found to be true. I have talked with drivers in other regions that are not having the same success we have had.
