To any expierienced water haulers: what is the best truck and trailor to obtain to maximize profits hauling water in the basin? Specs on both would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just had a friend get his CDL and did a ride along up in Williston for a week. He doesn't have the capital to purchase one and wants me to buy him one. Looking for information on the kind of truck that would work best out there

Im sure everyone is sick of all us newbies trying to get into the industry and not knowing what we are getting into, but any specs on the trucks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What kind of profits can a truck realize after gas and other expenses at the end of the month?

Your intentions are noble but you are courting disaster. If you want to see what kinds of tanks they are using to Haul water, go see the truck stops, they're filled with idle, water tanks behind O/O trucks, belly dumps and crude trailers, if your friend just got his CDL, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR A NEW DRIVER to cut his teeth. Million mile drivers have to become teachable (if that's possible) because its not like regular driving, that has occured in their million mile history. Log truckers and anyone that has trucked prudhoe might be the exceptions.

Throw away your spreadsheets, your new to trucking and would go broke under normal circumstances by the questions your asking.

I'm not slamming you at all, I've seen this too many times, you will fail if you pursue this. Your friend needs to get some miles under his belt working for someone else, there's no shortage of driving job.

EDDIE has some great advice there. First learn the job and the industry before you try to become an O/O. That will be full time work by itself for the first 2-3 YEARS.

    BigJohn54 and heitz0311 Thank this.
