Good information! I don't know if this would be against the forum rules but it would be nice to get a list from hot shot guys what insurance company's everyone is using. I know when I started out searching for insurance it was tough finding a reasonable quote along with an agent that knew what they were doing.

To me it seems like maybe it's a good idea to have insurance agents listed in a seperate thread. They could easily get lost/burried in a thread like this where there's probably going to be a lot of questions asked and answered? I have a list of good Agents I refer our guys to for most of the states that we run (Western Half).

One important thing people looking for commercial truck insurance should know is, If you call a agent based in a different state than you reside in, the Agnet may not be able to help you. A insurance agent has to be licensed and bonded in each state he wants to service. I'd say the reason each state requires them to be licensed, and bonded is because insurance laws vary from state to state?

Another thing guys will find put when shopping insurance is that a lot of agents have now idea about trucking insurance. That's why I think it would be a nice to have a list somewhere of agents that deal with this type of insurance on a regular basis.

Yep it's best to deal with a insurance company that has a lot of experience handling commercial truck insurance.

Definitely, when I first got my commercial insurance, I went straight to an agent who deals mostly with that. A buddy of mine tries getting a progressive quote, holy smokes it was through the roof!
