Max: if you know someone who is leased onto a carrier ask to be a team driver. If you are willing to drive with them, this is a way of getting experience. I got my license 1 day short of my 20th birthday, I had to wait til I was 21 to sign on as a team with my father who was/is running otr. I've been otr now and have learned a lot. If you can't do this, I recommend finding something local, which is better than nothing. Also check out the list in the previous posts they are "start up carriers" but its better to drive for them than to be sitting @ home unemployed. Good luck!

Hey guys me again: I'm sure its been discussed already but I can't seem to find it anywhere..what is an crap/okay/great/best cpm after all expenses paid per truck profit ? This is if you are running under your own authority and have a driver. Let's say you make 3g per load coast to coast u pay driver 2g leaves u 1g profit per trip, 2 trips is 2g per month right? How can someone increase their profit

Your question is subjective. What is a crap load to me may be a good rate for someone else. What is a good profit to me may be different for you. Your percentages are also off. You are not going to pay a driver $2,000 to drive 2,500 miles. There are two ways in which you can increase profit, cut costs or increase revenue.

Why wouldn't I pay a driver 2000$ to drive 2500 miles? In a company truck? Id say that's pretty good...why do you disagree

for starters paying a driver $2000 for a load that pays $3000 is a losing situation plain and simple....you have to take out maintaince cost and fuel cost and say tolls...so where is the profit...its not there and the load was a cheap freight load if it paid $3000 for 2500 miles..the math dont add up,,,

Sorry let me rephrase, let's say its a 7300$ load coast to coast say jersey to cali. 7300$ minus 4000 for gas that's $3300 is left. 300 toll expense(that's alot ) You pay driver 2000$ and that leaves you with 1000$ profit after expenses...

So how can you use that 1.10 to determine what to pay your driver?
