Can someone please tell me there exp. renting a straight truck as an o/o. Can it be worth doing when you have little start up funds? Under 26k lbs require less permits, taxes, etc. Id like to do my own thing on a small scale and if it works out then buy a 26' truck until I can afford a rig. Any positive feedback appreciated.

i tried that with Exel some years ago. It was ok, you wont get rich, but if the truck is paid for, it makes a world of difference

Ok I'm thinking of getting started in this lucrative trucking business but I want to make sure there isn't going to be any hang ups. My main concern is I've been convicted of a felony for possession of marijuana 30grams on April 12, 2012. I did jail time for seven months and have ten years probation. Will there be any problems receiving loads from brokers or any other entity being a owner operator. I,m receiving my CDL in a month or so and will have an experience CDL driver as a partner. Can someone please give me a little advice. Thank you and God bless!

Had a fellow school mate with a felony conviction and he got a tanker job in the Texas oil patch.
