$395 a month isn't out of line for a $15,000 truck loan....the issue would be finding a 60 month note on that piece of equipment.
So you want to "own " your own company

it is all just a math problem
Sometimes a lease is a good way to get started but those are rare a reliable paid of truck is a far better choice -
I've purchased a 1998 Freightliner Century that I purchased for 7500. What is a good company to lease on with? Which outfit is better? Flat Bed, Dry Box, Reefer? I want to be a O/O so any help would be greatly appreciated. I've looked at Landstar, FCC, and CRST Malone. Are any of these companies any good or would you recommend another company.
Also, I've also have a job a FFE if I want to take it. Would it be better to work with them and then later switch to O/O? Thanks for your time. -
So you bought a truck BEFORE you knew what you were going to do with it? Some companies want a 2000 or newer truck, or a 2004 or newer. From the options you posted, what do YOU think you want to do?

I have a family member that has his own Authority and he was going to show me how to do that but I don't want to go that route. I'd like to sign on with CRST being that is where the truck was signed on with before I got it. I like flat bedding but I want to go into where the best pay is. Even if it's dry box, reefer or flat. Do you think I'd be better working with a company? I appreciate your input. I know how busy all of you owner operators are and all your advice is greatly appreciated.

If it were me, I'd go with what you know. As far as pay between the different options, best bet is to contact them and see what their requirements are, what they pay as far as baseplates, etc and how much they pay to the truck.
