Don't do it in Missouri: if one cow runs and snags a hole, they get REAL serious about restitution.
The cow probably wouldn't appreciate you either.

Lol, oh funny ive scared the crap out of birds and hawks sleeping on signs. Watched one almost hit the ground before he started flapping his wings. Came across a open field of wild elk eating, and couldnt hold the urge back so I laid on the horn and laughed as all about 200 of them turned looked at my truck and bolted in the opposite way. Now did see a cow on the side of the road the other day on US-93 in nevada. He was outside the fence right next to the road, so I honked thought that cow was gonna crap himself.

You have any idea just how stupid it looks to the locals when you use your horn around the livestock? Especially the farmhands.
I've been there with them, so I'm just sayin'....

Yeah I know, its a rarety when I do it and if I do its only in a big field and no houses anywhere of an earshot. Guess im an easily amused Minnesotan.

How do you know it wasn't a bull instead of a cow?

Y'all sound like Mater with his tractor tippin'! I have never used my air horn like that, nor had the urge. I did once do it inside the Green River tunnel in Wyoming next to a very annoying 4-wheeler just to really get his attention... and had always wondered what the horn would sound like inside a tunnel! Very cool... and yeah, it GOT is attention. Turned on the jakes, too!

What ever you do, DON'T give a blast of your air horn around a moose. They will charge your truck rather than run away.
