My main concern is getting the torque right putting them on. Around 475-500, I believe.

I am thinking about buying a torque wrench that can do up to 600 pounds ($300-400) from Amazon, but I’m not sure yet. It seems cheaper to just pay someone if I won’t be doing it often.

Maybe it’s common for lug nuts to loosen up over time. I’ve never used them, but every time my wheels are removed, I make sure to go back to the shop for a retorque. They’re supposed to be done within around 200 miles. I must admit I usually go past it.

If they are on right to start with they do not loosen up, that is a myth.

Don't buy an ordinary multiplier, there is one just for truck wheels in a case with sockets and all, I bought mine at a store similar to harbor freight for 79 bucks, and it is all a guy has to have, but I keep my milwaukii impact to run them off with. If I omly tightened them to the recommended 500 ft ppounds, it would take them off by itself.

This driver does, as does most other drivers here.

Honestly, invest in a decent quality 3/4" drive torque wrench. I've got a couple torque multipliers stashed away that I hardly ever use. Too much a pain in the butt to try and use.

I’m thinking about using a 3/4” long breaker bar to loosen up the lug nuts, and then finish it off with a Milwaukee impact.

With the setup I posted, it is quicker and waaaaay easier. As soon as you get it loose you just use the handle and that extension looking thing, and just spin them off and back on till you are ready to tighten them., then use the multiplier again. I have done it with a 4 foot breaker and a cheater pipe too at times, this just works so much easier, but like I said, I keep my impact so that the most I have to do with it now is break them loose.
