^^^^ The OP is teeming with Classic Truck Driver Insecurity as he is desperately attempting to Overcompensate. Even if you do have those things don't be such a gaudy D-Bag. I grew up in a very wealthy area and the new money guys were always like this. They were typically broke and gone in short order as extravagant wasteful purchases are not the way you get rich. You become rich by being frugal and working hard unless your a trust-fund baby which is another issue in and of itself.
Couple items to cover here
1.I don't care even if you do have a 10,000 SQ FT house and 80" TV your still being a D-bag
2.I think the Solar Panel System has potential if you can keep the weight down and make sure it doesn't increase drag. An scoop on the top front of the trailer may be helpful, but you would need to consult an Aerospace engineer to make any real factual decisions. I'm just worried what the protruding panel and wiring will do to drag and the flow of air from front to back.
I'm a big proponent of Alternative energy and it's advancement. Unfortunately for the most part it's still not an economically viable alternative to fossil fuels although it needs to become that within 200 years or we'll have to go for nuclear which is hardly a clean alternative. As such I have no issue with the subsidies from the government for the time being to promote alternative energy research and the subsequent research that follows as a result.
An area i think it has some major potential to improve is not only taking the place of an APU, but reducing fuel economy in motion. By powering the truck via a source besides the alternator their is the opportunity to eliminate the drag the alternator creates on the engine and save significant money in fuel.
It will be interesting to see the long term results if made available.
