HI
I am looking to get any and all information I can get about solar transport. They are saying I should be averaging 1200/wk ... 5 days a week 10-11 hours/day... bonus program after 6 months.. I would like to hear from someone who currently works for them or who has previously worked for them to give me some insight on there experiences . Im about to commit to them but I have read some posts saying that there pay promise isnt what they say.
thank you in advance for any help.
(I hope i posted this in the right place , if not let me know also haha )

Solar is looking for a local driver in my area think I may apply to them'I did awhile back but because I didn't give a 10 yr work history I was denied.Which is understandable but I had trouble with keep getting disconnected and would lose all my info.So I told them id be more then happy to fill an application if you faxed it and never heard back.

I currently work for Solar. Its not bad here, Ive been averaging $1100-$1250 a week, doing 4 loads a day. Its very hard to get in more than 4 here since I have to make a 1.5 hour drive from my trucks location to the city they have me pulling loads every day and back home. Biggest issue ive found is allocation, its a pisser to sit in line for an hour just to find out they dont have product, then off to another terminal hoping they have it. If you have any other questions ill do my best to answer. this is my first fuel hauling company BTW.
Derrty.Mac Thanks this. -
ok yea I would like to be at the 1200 mark. Are you on regular pay or probation pay ? How did the probation time go for you? How much do you make with the bonus program? That's good to hear you are averaging that , I read a review else where saying that the guy was promised between 1100 and 1300 but he was only getting 900, so It scared me a bit.. Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond. BTW where are you driVing out of?

Im still on probation right now, got about a month to go before i'm regular status. Its been fine so far, everybody at the denver office is nice as can be. Pretty lenient on if you mess up a little bit. From what I hear it takes a lot of screwing up to get fired. They are strict on the roll over policy though. Roll the truck and you are gone. I havent accrued and "points" yet, just gotta take your time and double check before you pull that handle. Being a newb dont expect perfect brand new equipment. I'm still waiting to see how the bonus program is. where are you at? Im out of the colorado springs yard.

Yea that's pretty standard everywhere, not liking rollovers haha. Oic yea lll be Iworking out of Madison wi. I guess I better make my decision tonight. You working 12 hour days then ?

Ive been averaging between 10 and 12 hours. sometimes I get lucky and get to the rack before the rush, or get my first 3 stores really close to the terminals and can be back and headed home by the time I hit 10 hours. I work the 4am to 4 pm. Ive only twice been able to get 5 loads done, both times it was a sunday. I so much prefer working weekends as the racks are empty and the roads are too.

Cool yea I would be working the same hours and days. I think I will give it a shot , don't really have much to lose. I could always find a job paying what I'm getting paid right now. Thanks a lot for all the information that was awesome ! I may come across some more questions down the line so hopefully we can stay in touch . take care

Not a problem! stay safe out there

I worked for them in Milwaukee. If you got the job, you and I both don't work there no more! Lol! got outbid by Klemm on the PDQ contract which meant bye bye for solar in the Wisconsin market... It was a ok job tho, didn't pay much but I made more than the other drivers because I took advantage of the dispatch stupidity. They would send me to a station with 8600 regular at 5am even tho I knew #### well it wouldn't fit. I always took it, then id call up Roger( hated that #######) saying I got retain. He'd send me to like 2 other stores, and instead of the load paying 75$ I'd make like double that sometimes more because of the extra stops and extra mileage even tho it Was on the way back to terminal...
