I may be starting with CRST in the not-so-distant-future.

Do teams EVER stop? (besides for gas and bathroom breaks, showers ect)
Are teams required to do those 34 hour "re-sets"?

I have a few other questions, but before I continue, I should probably ask if there is already a thread that describes the day-to-day chronicles of a team? Or maybe a teaming FAQ?

    Thank you.

We don't run with CRST, but do run team... First question... Do teams ever stop? Yes... However you make more money if you don't ;-) There is always the time you are sitting at a dock to load/unload... Also sometimes the load you get has LOTS of time on it (such as enough time for a solo to run it) so then you can take advance of that to do laundry/showers etc. You don't want to many of those types of runs though... No $$ there... And if the $$ isn't going in one pocket (such as ours since we are a husband/wife team) you have to split it!!

A team isn't 'required' to do 34 hr resets... No one is... But sometimes after running on recaps for weeks at a time (and yes we have done that) it's nice to have a break.

There are threads galore that have info regarding teaming scattered through them... As to one thread devoted to teaming?? I don't know...

I wish you luck though... Teaming with someone you don't know I did with my trainer only... Thankfully he was clean and professional... Now I team with my husband so living in a moving walk-in closet is tolerable. Living in a truck with someone that irritated me... Not a good thing!! There is also the TRUST in the others driving!! You have to sleep sometime...

Cool. Doesn't bother me one bit. I already know that I'm not going to make a lot of money my first year, and I don't care. I'm going to GET PAID to be trained in a new career!!! After 8 months I'll be able to get a local driving gig making decent money and getting home every night. I have a plan :)

I'm on day 3. My new codriver is in FL, I'm in NY. I'm supposed to get routed to a terminal to pick him up and get the truck fixed. I'm only 200 miles away from the terminal... Instead, I'm sitting in a truck stop waiting for them to find me a load out of the area that I can use to get down to Carlisle.

To the OP, it's not a good thing being stopped. You don't make that much money with this company. Getting 1-2 days off a week to get your reset is great, and I think every truck company should be able to give you that if you want it, but when you have 70 hours on your clock and you're not going anywhere, you're out of food and too far from a walmart or grocery store to buy any... That downtime is really just kicking you while you're down. I'm down to $12 that has to last me until I get paid, which is HOPEFULLY Tuesday, assuming I actually get a load over the weekend, which is insanely unlikely.

Be ready to spend a lot of time just sitting, and learning to hate your codriver.

Also, if you can avoid teams, do it. While there's some +'s to it, it's not easy living with someone 24/7 in these little trucks. Really all you have is someone to spot you on backing into a tight spot, which almost any other driver will be willing to help you with, you don't need a codriver... And when people see a CRST truck that looks like it's having trouble getting into a space, you get a crowd making sure you don't hit anything, you could do it blindfolded the way they keep giving you directions. These companies sell the team idea by pointing out how you get double the miles as driving solo, which is true, but you're also usually only getting paid for half of them. This means that any short distance loads are barely worth anything, and when there's a load that only needs to go 100 miles away, you can count on getting that load.
