Idaho Springs Police say 49-year-old Steven Barlow of Montrose crashed the Western Express semi-truck he was driving around 9 p.m. on Friday, shutting down the stretch of I-70 overnight and leaving traffic at a standstill for hours.
Some body forgot to tell this driver not to drink and drive

I hope the beer was worth it. I believe his career as a driver is over. Why do people risk everything including the lives of others for a few hours of a drunken stupor driving a 80k lb truck? Needless to say that this gentleman was not a professional driver.
Brickman Thanks this. -
Guess I need to get my application for western express sent, appears theres an opening.

Too late now. The fuzz already got him. -
Wow Ive often wondered why someone would drink and drive. I was in a construction zone stop and go traffic looked over and saw a guy in a big truck turn up a busch beer. Talk about stupid.

That's a tough one. I don't like tattle tails as a rule but on that one I would have picked up the phone. Police and company would have got a call. It's bad enough when your driving down the road moving at 60+mph! Construction zones usually mean men and women standing around near the lanes of travel. No metal around them to provide some amount of protection like that of a car. Even if they are just leaning on shovels!

"...leads them to believe alcohol factored in the crash, but toxicology reports were not immediately available."
From what is stated in the article, it doesn't confirm anything...
