2,208 paid miles for a total of $2,604. This includes deadhead while working. Fuel surcharges of $723.52. Added together thats $3327. $1.50 a mile. Is this an owner operator deal I want to get into? This was one of the smaller paychecks. I'm not factoring in deadhead to and from my house which can be 50-300 miles once a week each way. Fuel has been around $2.85 a gallon.
Deductions are for the normal items like license, prepass, bobtail ins, insurance, occupational accident.
I'd just like some comments. What would be your thoughts?
Some numbers for my previous week. Does this suck?

do you have a truck payment or own it outright?
-
That should not be a factor, you don't work for less just because you equipment is paid for.
When you get your truck paid off do you call your customers and tell them you will now be charging them less?RAG and Paddletrucker Thank this. -
No opinions? Above average, average, below average, way below average.

Will it work for you? Do you know your cost to operate your business? I figure in all miles even my out of route miles if any to and from the house, I am steal burning fuel and wear and tear on my equipment. That $1.50 with their trailer or yours? Better figure up your cost plus wages to yourself and see if it works and then see if their is any left over for a profit. $1.50 sounds a lot better then some of these pay by the computer mile freight carriers, if they figured their rate of pay by the hub mile I think they would cry like a baby.

It does mater as it pertains to what your net earnings are. -
