Everything else I've tried for steers end up out of round. I've had my drives on for a year and a half and they've got about 50% tread left. The Bridgestone 197s I have on the trailer are wearing real funny.

197s are only a highway long haul operation tire on tandem axles.

I like Michelin steers, but I am a huge fan of the bridgestone m710 drive, and I wanted my steers to match the drives.

That would be my problem with the 197s then. The set of 196s I had on there to begin with didn't last much better though.

On my spread 196s do really good. A few years back I was in a real bind and needed two tires and couldn't get any of the ones i like and haf to settle for a pair of 197s. They didn't last 75k miles.

I've been running them on a triple and it scrubs the inside off to nothing but only about 1/3 of the way around the tire. The 196s cupped real bad for some reason, also cost as much as the Michelins I bought now.

    Farmerbob1 Thanks this.

When was the last time you put shocks on the trailer? Bad shocks is a common cause of cupping.

It was a brand new trailer at the time, the tires that came on it when I picked it up at the factory.

Coffey, Orange713 and spyder7723 Thank this.

Where can I find premium Bridgestone steers for $900? Please include name of Shop and phone #. I’ll call them first thing Monday morning.

Just call tell them you want new steers. They'll give you a code you can use anywhere.

New set of drives requires approval from management. But as long as you're a good earner, they'll give you the nod.
