I have a list of expenses for my journey into the owner operator realm. I started by purchasing an old beat up 359 with the idea of cleaning it up a bit and replacing some belts n hoses. Well I ended up doing more than just a quick tune up.
I've done a complete paint job, inframe rebuild, full set of tires, new driveline and ujoints, airbags, fanclutch, jake heads, frame crossmember, wheel seal, brake pads, and much much more.
I've saved a ton of money by doing all of the work (aside from machining the head) myself.
I'm happy with the decision to buy an old truck and get it back in running condition. It's a ton of work but priceless in terms of truly understanding the machine you operate.
Anyways, here's the rough list of most of my expenses from havingno truck or business to running and driving with insurance and authority. I've tried my best to keep my expenses down as much as possible.

You break it down completely. That’s is what people need to know. I agree with all of that. Sometimes things go wrong at the wrong time. Put some money away for unforeseen expenses. I replaced a coolant reservoir and was advised that the radiator may go. I said ok. Two months later the radiator went on my way back from Alabama. Luckily it went out six miles away from a dealership. Cost me two days and $4500 to fix plus hotel.
