I get it but sometime i think your better off working in a factory somewhere. Spending 1800 on fuel. 300.00 on tolls every week for a net of 800.00 sometimes isnt worth it. OO lease or company driver its all a racket. There are different business models for each catagory . None are profitable based on sacrifices made .
Name me one factory job where I can work less than 6 months out od the year and not 60k. What sacrifices am I making as an owner operator? I spend more time with my family than any job would allow. Working full time 50 weeks a year for 60k would be a sacrifice.
don’t go home much, take about two weeks off per year now. vacation is in my future for sure. but right now, head down( or up cuz...driving) and just working. no kids, no wifey. that make it more doable?
Theres different ways to go about it. At the end of the day the name of the game is getting your own authority and booking your own loads. If theres a gf or wife at home by a computer it makes life much easier. Perferably you want a truck with under 500k pre def. If you dont have cash to buy a truck you want small personal unsecured loan with low interest 5-9% and cash on hand would be ideal. I would only buy from an owner operator. Insurance will be high first two years then settle back down. Anyway I run a drop deck book all my loads n gross about 7k a week sometimes more sometimes less but 7k is average. None of this is in order but hope my 2 cents helps.
Are you averaging $350 000 per year and clear what... $250 0000? That's awesome! I did not know that there was so much money to be made.
Once I got out of debt using dave Ramsey's plan I just dont work as hard as I used to. I gross around 240 take home around 100. But that's because everything is paid off except the house. I used to gross around 330 when I'd work my ### off.
