Whatever people. Only 1 of these had less than 500k on them. And, frankly I wouldnt be confident driving a 16 year old truck. Guys look, the money is rolling every day. Not telling people the great deal you got driving a 16 year old truck. But whatever
They're called remans. Fitzgerald and a couple others do them. Here's the bad news. They break just like everything else breaks.
They do justify it in terms of the fact that the decent carriers would not be decent, if the were so easy to find. Please don't sound like these numbers that he posted are attainable for everybody who can quickly sign up for such well paying carriers, as if they were as many out there as mushrooms growing after heavy rain.
That's right. Everything breaks. An older truck with a 12.7 or n14 in it only has a fraction of the things on it that a newer truck does so that means less stuff to break. And when it does break it's a whole lot cheaper to repair. Example: you can get a 12.7 or n14 inframe at almost any independent shop for 5k. What's a newer Cummins, Volvo, paccar, or Detroit cost to inframe?
Yes, but I can overhaul my E model Cat for the price of the emissions bs on a new freightliner, and there is none of this derate bull to deal with.
I dunno what you're getting all wound up about. One thing I've learned is ANYTHING is possible on TTR.
Those numbers are right in line with what a flat or step can do at the decent open deck carriers with good padding direct freight. And I don't mean some small outfit working a niche market that is hard to find. The big name outfits also have good freight Can just anyone do it leased to one if the decent carriers? Probably not, it does take a certain skill level that not everyone had. But neither can just anyone do it under their own authority either.
