Not from the usual suspects tho you'll have to put in some leg work. Don't let em pull the oh we only have 550 in it.
Ex earlier on the board they had a scranton to the bronx for 650. Some sucker i bet will be all over it thinking hey its 4.00miCoffey, Dave_in_AZ and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -

Don’t know if somebody covered this point yet but as an owner operator with a brand new authority most brokers will not give you a load unless your authority is three months or older. some brokers require one year or older plus references. so heads up on that first year. I spent 70k and 3 months preparing to haul my first load and then nobody would give me one because my authority was to new.
Now you can run under someone else’s authority while you let yours age ( like run for landstar for example ) then 3 months later pull some landstar loads under your authority and bingo, your over this hurdle.
But all in all it still adds to this headache!
*** DISCLAIMER- the name landstar was used for example purposes only! You may substitute any mega hauler that you wish!Coffey, Dave_in_AZ and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
When I first started, C.H.Robinson was all too happy giving me loads. Landstar too - but the agency I booked that one load from were double-brokering scumbags. I don't think it has changed much. ALSO TQL, maybe UBER...lot's of smaller brokers too. When they need to move something pronto, they will not care too much. You need to endure the first 6 months and then most of them use you. But don't say no one will use you.Last edited: Jan 31, 2020
