How do they push this stuff and still sleep at night? @Rookie-driver what part of the country you in? If your getting a loan from the bank your not doing a lease purchase right? Tell us where your located and someone will throw out a better company to lease to
Example of a decent company to lease to. 72% of line haul +100% fsc with their wagon Tolls paid National fuel accounts 20c off pump price or so. How do expect to make a profit there? Fuel 50c a mile. Not even taking anything else into consideration like maintenance and so forth. Doesn't leave any meat on the bone at all
I wouldn’t get to wrapped up in the percentage, focus on what that percentage equates to to the truck instead. I was leased to a carrier that paid 67% and I pulled their trailer, did quite well with them until rates went to hell.
I find it helpful, not to look at rate per mile all the time. What's left after fuel and tolls per day or week or whatever given stretch of time is more important. If you get what's you need to make a living is what matters. Rate pay mile is an aftermath, statistics by which you measure efficiency performance. Good thing by which you can tell good times from bad. That's all it is. You still have to make a living.
So many things are subjective. $3 mile for a 800 mile load is good right? How about $3 mile for a 3000 mile load? That would awesome then right?
Or 1.5 per mile from York, PA to Romeoville IL is super good too. Today at least. Next Friday too for that matter.
No it's not, it's break even pay without paying the driver a thing, that's the freight you tell the broker to carry there in their purse.
