Okay, so he's a jerk and doesn't want you to use his stuff. Is he teaching you how to do things Swift's way? Do you think you can tolerate him for the time it will take to complete 240 hours? By now, if you've been at it 10 hours each day for a week and a half, you should have 100 hours in. That leaves 140 hours. Three weeks at 50 hours/week.

Can you tolerate him for three weeks? Is he being abusive? Or is he just being a jerk? Are you there to get comfortable and set up housekeeping? Or are you there to learn what you can, put in your hours and move on to your own truck?

Not trying to sound harsh, just trying to get you to analyze for yourself and make your own decision.

I already had decided to stay with the new one. Atleast he isn't stealing money from me. Or driving in a way to get me killed. Although he has made some threats and scares me in that way. Plus he isn't letting me drive all of the loads which delays my graduation as he's trying to delay my time on the clock till they update to team status :( I still talk to my driver services person a couple times a week, as there is stuff from the other mentor still being straightened out. Like the mentor forcing me to pay for my own hotel while he was on home time.

Plus He's using the excuse that he's getting too bored sitting in the passenger seat and needs to drive, instead of allowing me to pile up hours. I also get cussed out for asking questions but oh well.

Cussed out for asking questions? That doesnt sound like a very good mentor at all! After all your a trainee and its your job to ask questions!
You also mentioned that he is trying to hold back your hours for some sort of personal gain?(team or something) Conflict of interest is the only thing that comes to mind on that.
You also said something about threats! HUGE RED FLAG!! Dont just shrug those off!
You say you are in contact with someone in the office a few times a week then I would suggest you bring up these concerns to them and see what they say.

Yeah but I don't want to sound like I'm being real picky as this i my second mentor. I just want to get done. If I have to bail on this guy, I figure I'll ask for a female mentor and wait on that or I'll jump ship to another company.

Just the couple of things you mentioned dont sound to me like being picky, they sound like legitimate concerns and they need to be addressed. If this company is a stand up company that cares about their drivers and trainees then they will feel the same and they will do whatever they can in the best interest of the trainee and the company to rectify problems such as these.

I don't know. I guess I can call my driver services and ask him. I just don't want to be annoying and that. This guy just keeps saying how I'm stupid and my college degree doesn't mean #### as I ask too many questions.

I do have another question. When you double clutch, are you to let your foot out of the gas? He's telling me I'm not allowed to drive with the engine brake off at anytime, and it messes with my shifting? He claims he's a mechanic and the engine brake does nothing to effect shifting.

You let your foot off to match the RPM of the gear you're going into, the Jake has nothing to do with it, it's a separate process.
