I had load from mi to ky going straight through and I arrived to ky receiver at my appointment time 16:00 and I stayed at the receiving until 21:00 after that the receiver said the load will be rejected because they found some bugs on the load inside the trailer. I called to Tql they said take some pictures for the load inside the trailer, and go to the truck stop we will talk about this tomorrow. I called the broker next day I told him the bugs was on the water pellets and I have pictures proofing that, not from my trailer. I sent the pictures to him he said after that, " go clean the pellets we are going to reschedule the load." than I cleaned the top of the water pellets. After that I waited two days at ky truck stop and I called to the broker than he said "go back to the shipper to inspect the load." I told him ok, but I need you to pay me for all of my time and for reject the load, " he said he's going to send requests to the customer now. After two days I called him about my pay "he said he is not going to pay any thing for this load and he made claim to my insurance company.
Some Tql brokers are very bad

you have been TQL'd if you go back after being bent over like that because you want to believe they all can't be bad your next one is really going to cost you. please remember with TQL it's not if but when
Rideandrepair, 6wheeler, W900AOwner and 2 others Thank this. -
Take it back to the TQL office that gave you the load and dump it in the parking lot.
Rideandrepair and Abdulnasser5 Thank this. -
OP, always get everything in writing on the rate con before you agree to anything that may take up your time and tie up your equipment. Make them put it in writing! Bill them for everything! Charge as much as absolutely possible. Take that load and put it in a storage facility. Be sure to bill every single dollar on your company's invoice. If they do not pay in 30 days, file a claim on their bond. You're supposed to be running a business, not a charity. Don't let them steal from you.
W900AOwner, windsmith, Abdulnasser5 and 1 other person Thank this. -
One of those dreaded situations. Maybe it is a good idea to get one of those body cameras and every time you sweep the trailer, open it up for the shipper and when closing and sealing, simply video record everything to prove integrity of the trailer. I am sure the bugs came from the shipper, some of the food warehouses are really filthy in and out. Even at a Starbucks DC there was a #### like smell and lots of flies over thrash disposer located near unloading docks. #### it!
Having said that, I would not blame the receiver for not wanting the infested pallets. They should go back to the shipper!Abdulnasser5 Thanks this. -
What to do in a situation like that when brokers turn their backs on you too? Finding a lawyer? Reaching out for help to the cargo insurance company? See these are the things one must know if running under their own numbers, and better know quick.
Abdulnasser5 Thanks this.
