If I wasn't just starting out... 10 months ago I started off as a brand new grad.

Being a puppet, as you so accurately and eloquently put, has grated on my nerves since day one.

...though I suppose it might do wonders for my maturity and the like.

We all start somewhere. Mine was werner.

I fondly remember the morning after I had shut down for my 10. Truck wouldn't start. Had a bad battery cell.

After spending an hour on hold I explained my problem.... that I needed 1 battery...

So 3hrs later a heavy duty wrecker shows up and tells me he's going to tow me to a shop. I made him jump start me instead.
I bet someone got in trouble for that expensive screw up.

My old truck used to die on me quick for some reason. Had all the batteries replaced during a pm. Still didn't work.

Boy was I a happy camper to learn you could jump start yourself as long as you had air in the tanks.

Sni has wanted me to wait on so much crud... I'll call them first just as a backup and then look at my surrounding options. I've had to call and cancel service a few times even. ...there's a phone call that confuses them!

    "So you're good?"
    "Yep."
    "What'd you do?"
    "Industry secret."

...they don't like that answer. But I love it.

The latch inside the fuel nozzle is normally set to automatically close off the fuel from pushing out anymore fuel when a tank is full. That latch was broken. Washing with bleach probably would have removed the smell but I didn't have time on that load to tack on another hour for washing. I am sensitive to smells of all kinds, especially toxic smells; even must cover my nose when walking through a truck stop. Now you have the whole story, are you ok with it now?

Like I said, we are not allowed to work on the trucks.
From your perspective as an O/O yes that would have been a possibility; but.......

We'll still have to agree to disagree. I have an anti rollover device on my truck but if I roll it, it's still my fault. Not saying anyone else necessarily would have prevented it but it doesn't exonerate you from fault.

    Vilhiem Thanks this.

New drivers should know.... there's no parking after 9:45 and someone in your company may snitch on you for parking on an off ramp
