Might not be "cash strapped"...could just be "cheap sumbeech" like me. I'd rather do what I've gotta do to keep that $1 in my pocket than spend it on an overpriced tow. Some of these outfits feel like they need to have that tri-axle 70-ton rotator with all of the bells & whistles when the tows they do 90% of the time are no different than what we used to do with a medium duty International 4900 wrecker...and they set their rates accordingly. There is no reason a wrecker bill needs to be $400+/hour, other than the tow company bought more truck than they needed and are trying to pay for it. Sorry, but at those rates, it can sit in your shop and I'll do what I've gotta do. I'd rather pay somebody half as much to come twice as far with a properly sized truck...or even better, hitch a ride to town to get what I need and fix my own truck where it sits.
Sometimes you just wonder

My driver missed a right turn with a loaded grain wagon. Cost me 750 an hour to pick trailer up and set it over. Ruined the trailer as well

"Might not be "cash strapped"...could just be "cheap sumbeech" like me." I was thinking the same thing. I can afford a tow but if billyjoe jim bob has an idea and I think we can pull it off without getting anyone hurt then hell yeah hooker up and lets roll.

i guess if your going to f- somthing up might as well totally f- it up to the point its worth the insurance claim. -
I agree but still seen red. To boot I am letting him pull my black Timpte because we all need to work and I'm having trouble finding a replacement. Course our stuff isn't new and it's hard to find well maintained used. I am picky about the trailer I pull everyday so he better take extra good care of mine lol
