I will comment on the bolded part first. If they are working 25k jobs because they dropped out of college, it's because they don't have that degree and are pretty much on par with a high school graduate.
Now I won't argue that not all college graduates are successful, but the cards are better stacked in the favor of a degreed graduate then they are for a drop-out or a general high school grad.
As a general rule, I will always advise someone to go to college and get a degree before they attempt to pursue something different. That way, they always have a fallback if things don't pan out the way they'd hoped.

I woke up excited to check the forum, I did not expect 3 pages!
Okay guys, I will give you a little more info, oh and by the way I aprechiete all the feed back, ALL of it. And who the HELL is ABBA? My mind went to Jessica Alba
Anywho, I'm about 17 credits into my first year of a COMMUNITY college, dorms and all that... thats maybe in the future, and I doubt I'd do it because of A) All the debt B) I could get a quality job with just certificates (A+, Network +, CCNA etc)
But the thing is, home life is stressing me out like no other, I find my self drinking beer as much as I can to get through the days of just hearing my mother or father speak, heh. (Don't think I'm an alcoholic, I'm in great shape and work out 5 days a week... something that will be depressing to give up, but.... dumbbells do fit inside the rig)
Umm... Yeah, why are people laughing at the 200-300$ a day thing?
That's 2000 miles a week, for 200$ a day, sure that's before taxes but still.
Can I not earn a good living for a 21-22 or 23 year old driving? You guys are scaring me with the 34 cent a mile thing, I am thinking of going to a truck stop and talk with some pros face to face as well.
Btw, I think I may have landed a full time jog at HHGregg yesterday, yay -
That was the first thing I thought of when I read the original post. -
I don't know about trucking, but you def could make $150 - $200 - $300 dollars a day collecting cans in NYC.
RAGE 18 Thanks this. -
U4EA Thanks this.

Did you look into the military ? Many good jobs..... and the schools, since they are concentrated and not 1 hour on M,W,F, might suit you better than college courses.
For learning to shift, find a buddy with a manual tranny car and try it out, and / or a buddy with a small motorcycle or dirtbike and learn to do it. It is more fun anyway. Good luck. ( College is still a good thing as long as your major actually has some practical value and you can get a job with it. Business Adm is good, take extra accounting..... I.T. work is good............ but not Sociology, IMO. ) -
Yeah, I've considered military, but the pay sucks.

If you're looking for top pay - you've come to the right place!
