I think him joining the Marines is the best idea.....

I hear enough rap and BS on the CB.

He stated he was REALLY lazy! Geeze! Trucking is not for him!

What about sitting on your ### on a computer all day? Not a lazy job?

Many office jobs are much "lazier" than trucking....

No one here is going to be able to solve that problem for you. This is your choice, I got a Bachelors degree, then my priorities changed, and now i'm going to be a truck driver. Take your old mans advice, but at the same time you gotta do what you feel is right.
Hey, if you don't no what to do with your life, trucking is a good thing to do in the mean time. Its not a life sentence. You can always go back and get more formal education one way or another.

Get out and drive with someone for a couple trips and then see what you think...

pre-trips, post-trips, loading, unloading, watching everything like a hawk because anything that your truck touches (or touches your truck) is a preventable on your record that will haunt your career, long hours trying to stay alert with too little sleep, spending your off-duty time plotting your courses and fuel stops, where you will eat, where you will be able to even take a crap, fighting your way through traffic, fighting to park at night and fighting to get out on the road again, all with the understanding that if you really mess it will end your career and possibly kill someone. I'm sure that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Once he drives 11 hours through traffic and a few construction zones and the various other crap we have to he will have a whole new respect. Trucking isnt all peaches and cream.
