@Macon_77 - here is a similar thread from Houston.
FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
If you're considering flatbed, look around at heavy equipment rental places (should be plenty in the Houston area). My backup plan in case Superior doesn't pan out for some reason is a crane rental company a buddy of mine works for. Usually those pay hourly and in our cases there's likely never going to be a shortage of overtime.

Here's some more companies on another thread concerning Houston:

I would definitely add managing sharp curves and off ramps to the list of required skills; more than surge. Surge can give you a headache where an offramp (rollover) can kill you pretty good.

Thanks Chinatown, I knew you'd have some good suggestions. At the moment it looks like A&R only has O/O positions posted for Houston but I'll probably send them an app anyways.
Do you happen to know of any other tanker companies that hire rookies? Those seem to be much rarer than anything else, so far the only ones I've seen are Superior, Schneider and A&R? -

I don't see any minimum experience requirements for Groendyke, and they have an opening in the Houston area.

Saw an ad a while back they take some drivers from accredited driving schools. Maybe not all terminals, but some do.
