I currently work for Swift and have so for the last three years. What it sounds like is you basically experienced what a new employee coming into a new co. would expect to experience. From what i know, i do know that by Swift having so many terminals around the country, they are all run according to how that terminals manager oversees it. Some terminals are very clean, organized and go out of their way to help the employees...especially newbies. On the other hand, a few of the terminals are really handled poorly, the things that can happen to you at those terminals run the gamet and you can hear drivers sharing horrow stories all day and never hear the same story twice. Coming from a guy that really doesn't stand for too much crap, you learn to navigate through the BS and avoid things that might annoy you or cause you problems. I think most of the negative things I see listed here are attributed to the fact that Swift is such a large company and has so many different shop and office personnel that you may need to deal with from time to time. Occasionally you get a smart a_ _, or someone on a power trip but, I can assure anyone coming into Swift that they will take care of any problems you have. they will pay you on time every week, they will give you the miles you want, once you let them know you won't stand for the crap no one wants, they will provide you with a nice truck. And most importantly, they will rectify any concerns or problems that you might encounter.
Sound like a lot of drama to me

So, would you recommmend Swift to a new driver who has no financial obligation to them for school? The reason I ask is because Swift pays more for mentorship and tuition re-imbursement than Werner.

cool..cuz the only thing i be hearing bad about them is that they dont train well..i never heard nothing about having low miles and messing up the pay..and i always hear if i roll with them i want be able to back up..lol
but i went to a school for 3months so i might be ok..i suppose to go to the pa on the 24th -
How do we know you're not a recruiter for Swift rather than your ordinary everyday trucker?
I'm not saying this to be rude but I'm sure you know there are a LOT of skeptics around here
