I can't say enough good things about this truck driver training program! My husband and I both went there. It's about 8 weeks long and VERY comprehensive. You get classroom time and LOTS of road time. ALL instructors have been OTR/longhaul drivers and most have 20+ years experience. Large yard for practicing every kind of backing maneuver possible. When I went there one of the instructors was a certified DOT tester so you test out at the school. You train on 9 speeds, 10 speeds, super 10s, 13 speeds, pull dry van, loaded van, flat bed (they teach tarping too), and tanks (half full of water so you can feel the surge and learn to handle it).

And the best part....it only cost about $800-$900. That includes tution, books & fees. Your DOT physical will run you about $100 then your permit and license (with endorsements) will vary.

As a lady I was very intimidated going into trucking because I had zero back ground in the field. I was in commercial lending before. At the end of my course at CFCC I felt confident enough in my training to be able to go out and do it all on my own.

If you are looking for a quality truck driver program that is WELL worth the money look into Cape Fear Community College truck driver training school. Located outside of Wilmington, NC.
    own.
