imgoingfwrd Thanks this. -
Why isn’t your son on here doing his own research? Lots of 411 on here. Why are you speaking for him on here ? Seems your trying to do the work for him.... let him loose.... he needs to find his own way to get the instructors attention. Maybe ease drop when other students are being attended to. And believe it or not, I have heard from newbie truckers that the schools that went to, they wouldn’t give the students the time of day UNLESS they paid them on the side some extra money to get there full attention. Just saying.... Your son needs to speak with someone with management and see how does that school function. HE NEEDS TO DO THIS ON HIS OWN ..............
IluvCATS and imgoingfwrd Thank this. -

There's more choices, but I tried to choose a few he may be interested in.
Let us know.
Tell him to get all the endorsements because they're money in the bank; like a savings account waiting to be used. -
I chose United Truck Driving School in Riverside, CA. They have a solid program and, as a recent graduate, I can tell you we were never left without clear direction and guidance. All 8 of us passed our written tests (CDL + endorsements) on the first take and 7/9 passed our skills test on the first try. The two that didn't pass went back, practiced, and passed the following week. We trained in 2009 Freightliners with sleepers and 48' trailers. My class was extended to 186 hours because I also took my passenger endorsement. You typically get what you pay for. The 160 hr course was $4995 and it was an extra $500 to add the passenger endorsement. They had 8 or 9 recruiters come through the first week for their recruitment pitch, they didn't push any of them answered whatever questions we asked. Each school that came in offered tuition reimbursement in one form or another. Seriously, this school was the real deal and still a couple thousand dollars less than Roadmasters (ie Werner).
1. I know that Schneider and Reddaway have very solid and structured training programs with classroom and yard training before getting in a tractor.
2. Mountain Valley Express will stick your ### in a truck with a trainer the very first day for an entire 12+ hr shift and you'll be doing the bulk of the driving by day 2 (with a trainer of course). They let you loose after a couple weeks, upon trainer approval.
3. May has a fantastic training program for the I-5 South route, teaming for the first 3 weeks before assigning your truck. The trainer is required to sit his/her tail in the passenger seat while you drive, not sleep while you drive.
4. Northern Refrigerated Transportation ships you to Turlock for 1 week of training/orientation, week 2 you're paired with a veteran city driver, week 3 you're paired with a regional driver. If the trainer doesn't extend your training, you're assigned a truck at the start of week 4 and tossed a set of keys.
All of the companies above offer tuition reimbursement, some require a 160 hour school (not sure which). I know each of the companies above because I've heard feedback from students in my class that were hired and are currently going through training. -

Thanks in advance -

If you're low on cash, they have a financing deal.
What type driving do you want after graduation?
I love it here in Nevada! I'm a legal immigrant from Tennessee.....lol -
