And oh yeah ....why can't the OTR driver be home once a month to serve his country? ....if the man can be on the job
24/7 for some thieving ,lying,cheating, lousy ,worthless,scumbag trucking company .....anyone
that would dare deffend or come up with some stupid excuse about this ...i would ask them what color is the sky on the planet they live on ?

This man is serving in our armed forces protecting our country. A company should be proud to have him and it's as much a companies patriotic duty to allow him the time off for his training and drills as it is his to do them.

I for one thank her husband for his service and hope he finds and employer who feels the same way.

Several companies are very vet/reservist friendly - Schneider, Crete, and TMC come to mind immediately.

Please dont speak for me. I have all the respect in the world for this individual for serving this country. But that should not get in the way of personal responsibility.

I definately understand the sacrafice to serve this nation. But that is not a excuse for forgeting personal respinsibility. Knowing that you have monthly meetings and or training, it is your responsibility to be there. Why would you rely on a over the road company to get you to these drill dates. Why would you not ensure you are available by getting a local job, be it driving or anything else. He accdepted the responsibility by volenteering, now he is asking his employer to ensure he is back to fulfill these responsibilities.

Granted the government has passed laws that require your employer to allow you the time for these drills. Thereby attempting to relieve you of your responsibility and placing that responsibility on them that you are available. Why did he not take the precations necessary to ensure he was there to be present for these drills?

Regardless...a company MUST comply and get a driver back for reservist duty work and they can't retaliate in any way shape or form... It's illegal...besides, srt is a garbage company just like its parent company .
