Southwest Airlines plane takes evasive action to avoid collision at Chicago midway

The private jet didn’t follow ATCs instructions properly.

 

Someone is going to receive a nasty email from the FAA.

Good on the Southwest Airlines pilot for averting a billion dollar disaster.

 

Email is an understatement.
The flight crew is going to be having a “heart to heart” talk with an FAA inspector!
Either by the 1-800 number or or getting pulled into an office along with the chief pilot of operations!!
Either way,this is not going to end well!!

 

Had to have gotten confused. Luckily there was no collision.

 

Didnt listen to the tower or the tower fcuked up faa and ntsb will investigate aint no games gonna be played .

 

The way I see it, it would take a miracle for there to be any survivors had those two aircraft collided with what I assume is an outgoing airplane fully fueled and taxiing to its runway being struck by the Southwest airliner landing at speeds between 140-180 mph.

There would be the initial impact, an ensuing fireball, then wreckage that is still traveling over 100 mph ending up God knows where, possibly striking a building, ground personnel, or yet another aircraft.

I don't know who screwed up, but their ### is in a sling.

 

Another thing to remember is that Midway Airport is surrounded by mostly a residential area. If any wreckage breached the noise barriers you would possibly be looking at a potential mass casualty event!
