First let me say that Southwest Truck Driver Training provides lifetime job placement assistance to all of our graduates. why have you never called in or complained to management? Second the local list is produced every Tuesday at 12:00 noon and on Thursday at 12:00 noon unless their is a holliday on Mondays or Fridays, then the list comes out Wednesday only. this has been the policy here for at least the last 4 years that i my self have been here. SWTDT can email you the list or fax you the list. Please contact us so you can be added onto the list. Thirdly I would like to add that SWTDT has no control over the job market. If there is only 40 places that hire student drivers with no experiance then the list will have forty jobs. If there is only 5 places that can hire a student driver with no experiance, then you will see 5 on the local list. fourth piont I would like to address, is that I have no crystal ball to find job, yes I also use the internet, my master list, newspaper, referral calls, and a lot of the same media that you use, I never claimed I didnt. Try your local beverage distributors..many will train you as long as you have your CDL and you will be working local with good pay...it's tough work, though.

 

Sorry about your bad experience, Good Guy. I went to Southwest Truck Driving School in Las Vegas and I must say that their job placement service is very good. The placement person there is Cindy Nunez. I always found her to be very helpful and I also got the impression that she actually cares. I do know that most local jobs can be much more difficult to get in relation to OTR gigs. Just a little tidbit here that might help you; try Conway Freight (Not Conway Truckload!) down there off Buckeye Rd. Big place and might be hiring. You may have to "pay your dues", as they say, but could be well worth it for a good future. Good luck!

 

Hey Joker, can you give me more info on your experience at AIT please? I am considering them. Like how much, length of course, time spent behind the wheet actually driving, etc etc. Are they still PTDI certified? Thanks.
