Again not to be uncaring but you'd have a hard time holding much for a job several places not just truck driving. Employers do want employees they can rely on to be at work. It's easier to get an employee out the door faster if something were to happen with your mother if you're working in a factory or another controlled setting than it is out driving a truck making deliveries locally. It can be done but common sense should tell you it's not as easy. They have to get someone out to meet you to take the truck over or have you bring it back to the office. You won't be driving a car so you can't just run over there. It sounds as if this could be happening often with your situation and a lot of employers wouldn't touch you with a 10 foot pole if they're aware of it prior to employment. If you were an established, reliable employee who had a similar situation come up they'd probably work with you. Another question is, if you get an interview are you going to start it off with "I've got to check on my mom several times a day to see if she's ok" or "I need all these days off here because I have to take her to the DR." That's a red flag to employers and good luck getting hired for anything other than a controlled setting. But that also would get old for a lot of employers period factory or not if you're a new employee or one with a so-so record anyway.
Most nursing homes/assisted living facilities that I know of take the person's SS check for their stay. If they have assets you two should have switched that over before they go in. If your mother is having seizures regularly, she needs other care of some sort without a doubt. Whether it's a nursing home,or hospice or a CNA checking in on her a few times a day. That's my opinion and it isn't meant to offend you but it's also reality.
I don't know anything of the school and there are plenty of crappy ones out there. What I have seen is the posts they've made here listing some local places to apply at but there is no gurantee of a local job. Those places don't have to hire you. I don't know what the school said to you about local opportunities when you signed up for the course. I also don't know if you heard what they said or heard what you wanted to hear. There's a difference. If they truly didn't give a crap they probably wouldn't have posted here. Honestly there's only so much they can do. The brunt of the job search is up to you and how much you want to do the job.
Good luck, but it appears as though you didn't do much research prior to going to trucking school. You should have waited until you were prepared. You can't lay that at the doorstep of the school that's on you. There is no gurantee of local job placement you said that in your first post. You probably should have picked something else like a CNA course. There is a big demand for that and that would be a guranteed local job in Phoenix with all the old folks. Plenty of hours as well. It's a thought and it'd be something steady until you can get your stuff straight. I commend those people that can deal with that on a daily basis. You'd be home every day that's what you want. Do you have a passenger endorsement? What about those buses that haul the old folks around shopping or to the DR.?
Good Luck on the job search and I mean that.

well enough with the parents stuff cause that's nobodys business and its something everyone must face unfortunetly. In earlier posts were stated I was told more than once I would be placed into a job from the school and im not the only one who was told that. Ive spoken with several other classmates who were promised a job aswell. Its kinda like all the auto tech schools and mmi that promise to kids ( yeah we will get u a job as an auto tech when your done here right outta school ). 35k dollar loan later, they get done and all they can get is an 8dollar an hour job changing oil, which they coulda probly got without attending school. And I have no problem going to work, I currently have a job and never missed a day. Previous job missed 2 days in 5 years. Works not a problem, no offense but at times u almost sound like u work for the school. If I wanted to go into the medical field I woulda, just not for me. Couldn't do it, I give props to anyone who can.

You're right on the parents thing that wasn't meant to offend you and that's your decision. Most people will have to deal with it at some point and choose how to deal with it as well. It wasn't meant to be harsh but I see where it could be. The school can probably help you get a job but it probably won't be what you want. So it's up too you now and the other students who evidently want local as well to find something on your own. You have to keep in mind though the employers do not have to hire you and the school can't force an employer to take you either. I look at job placement as assistance and having recruiters come in and talk to prospective applicants. I don't know of any place that can gurantee anything job wise other than the opportunity to apply somewhere given the skills that they have learned. One thing about truck driving is there are jobs, it may be not what you want, but there are jobs, being flexible is a key. Nope, I don't work for the school and have not been to Arizona either. How much is the cost of this school and how long of a course. I'm sure it's a private school and not a technical college.
Best of luck. -
Guys, apply for a job in a trucking company. FedEx freight, conway, estes, etc. But not as drivers, apply for dock positions or warehouse. Once you are hired ask around to transfer to a driving position. Most of the companies hire internally even without experience, they will train you. That is how i started my driving career. I got my cdl and applied for a warehouse position at coca cola. No driving experience but when they knew i had a cdl class a they were willing to train me and within six months i transfered to the distribution department and gain experience before i applied to another driving job.

Well I am starting with southwest this month 8/2017 in Tucson and as soon as I am done I am going OTR at least 1 year due to most local jobs require OTR experience. From there I will start my career as a regional or local driver. @goodguy A buddy of mine found a guy who needed a partner to run from the valley to Vegas my buddy drives for the guy now and the route is his he posted "no experience cdl driver needing work and willing to learn on Craigslist. Great Luck #KEEPONTRUCKIN
