Must be a Volvo. Tell hubby to practice up on his Swedish. What year truck? My guess is 2010 or 2011. Regen or DEF? Warrantee is about gone. Wouldn't bother me cuz I am my own warrantee. And a table and a fridge wouldn't be a selling point. And there's no such thing as mint condition at 750k. Don't know whether or not it's a grass burner, but we have had problems with Volvos before because they were not grass burners, and when they put a headache rack on the truck, there wasn't any room between the trailer and the headache rack to swing. I don't know if he plans to go to Canada but he can most definitely get a longer wheelbase truck. It will look better and ride better. Some people will tell you that you don't have to have a rack, but I prefer one because I carry a lot of gear.
let me guess...it's white, condo sleeper, table...sounds like the typical doorslammer fleet truck. I would recommend buying an owner OP spec truck, but that would probably be a much harder find. The ECM had never been subjected to beancounters specs, and the drivetrain has avoided rookie abuse. And it would have to be mid roof for me to look at it.. -
Triplesix, read where they are from.
Ont. Ca.
So that is the reason for the short wheel base..
I know to early in the morning for you. Have another coffee. Haha -
I would think weight of tractor would be a consideration.
Aren't Volvos heavy? Heavy front axle and big sleeper and little lightweight motor to compensate. -
HUSBAND! Weigh shouldn't be a huge issue. If your line haul consists of lumber or steel maybe I'd tone it down a little. Otherwise the bigger the better

thanks guys so far! it is a 2009 Volvo 730 we haven't seen the truck yet, just pictures so don't if op spec

13,200, 40,000's and 13 speed are not your typical fleet spec door slammer truck. A typical fleet spec would be 12,350, 38,000 and 9 or 10 direct would be.
Personally right now I do drive a Volvo 780, a 2013 with D13 and 13 speed. I catch a lot of flack on here for driving a Swedish Meatball and honestly till I actually drove one I would have never been caught dead in one. This truck now has 372541 miles on it and it has been the absolute most comfortable, best riding and quietest truck I have ever been in. I am getting a new KW T-680 next week but not completely by choice, they have a driver who want's this particular truck and the KW is spec'd a little better for what I'm now doing.
No it's not the most powerful truck on the road, fuel mileage when I'm pulling giant airplane parts stinks but just two weeks ago I ran from Grand Prairie, TX to Everett, WA with one of our Peterbilt 386's with the MX engine and although he got better fuel mileage we pulled right together the entire trip. We were both loaded with 16' 8" wide boxes on 53' spreads and our loads were identical in weight.
Now the down side, if you need parts they can take forever to get, same with getting into a Swedish Meatball shop, they too can take forever to get an appointment with. Fortunately I have had nothing go wrong with this truck that required the services of a shop but prior to me getting it the team that had it for a short period had a lot of mechanical issues with the motor. However Volvo replaced the injector cups and not a single issue since. -
And they turn them up and convert them to 13s when they trade them in. It's she had said, 18913A, I would agree.

Not many fleets running 730s

Id be a little worried about weight, but a decent trailerwill make up for that
