Got no use for unions. Paying $800 a year just for the privillege of having a job and you get to be the first on the chopping block when slow times hit.

Dodged countless layoffs over the years. Only layoff I ever got was in a union place because work ethic and abilities mean nothing.

it already exists, there are actually a few of them out on the market. Ford trucks have issues when changing tires, this is where the idea was created.

they tried national 55 mph at one point and they tried to ban alcohol at one point too

a big rig can't accelerate, the only defensive driving option u retain is change of direction or braking. intent and momentum influence outcome, the clumps just get bigger, if you're already moving at large u at least retain the option to not contribute to the fkry.

Illinois 60 mph big truck ceiling with the 65 mph bus speed and 70 mph car speed is actually really functional, it translates to "stay tf away from me". i have less issues being messed with in Illinois. when u get into Wisconsin or through Ohio and Indiana, it's all the same speed, 4 wheelers act like iron shavings next to a magnet, then everybody wants to make it a bumper party. as long as traffic is still flying by you u r good, state mph brackets are great, electronic speed limiters is not the way to go.

Especially anywhere you have grades, removing the ability to build and maintain momentum carries the single most potent ROI on mechanical and psychological stress accumulation and it would turn the entire road system into the same gaggle clumps of road rage you see now at every merge point

Split speeds are absolutely NOT the way to go. The way to go is an enforced speed limit and cops enforcing aggressive/inattentive driving as well as impeding traffic flow.

My truck can most assuredly accelerate to extricate myself from a situation when I’m light or empty which is often 50% of the time

they should have electronic CMV speed limiters tied to the company CSA score so only the $1.15 a mile lunatics have to all hold hands and everybody else can go around

I think this could happen, but the pushback from the increase in accidents will be to encourage driverless trucks. The public has always thought trucks are dangerous and having everyone else but them drive slower is safer, the increase in accidents will be perceived as proof that humans just can't safely drive a truck.

How are they going to ensure all owner operaters comply with this ? I wont be limiting my trucks speed. But i run 60-65 90% of the time
