Implementation in trucking comes approximately 2 years after final rulemaking, comment period to rulemaking ranges 6 months to 3 years
Comment period essentially just ended, so we have roughly 2.5 years

That’s pretty cool. However that has nothing to do with this boat speed limit rule. I also am willing to bet that shipping was going up that river long before this guy bought his house there.

It's got as much to do with this rule as the article did. It read like manufactured outrage, particularly:
He said larger boats are especially at risk going through channels near shore. "They can’t maintain steerage [at 10 knots,]" he added. "If you’re going that speed you’re going to [run] aground."
Ships over 65 feet already have these speed limits, and my (possibly incorrect) understanding is that smaller vessels need less speed to maintain steerage, so how is it that smaller vessels are going to run aground?

I'll also point out that it's a speed limit rule, not a speed limiter rule - two very different things.

This is to save the whales and it’s only for 7 months a year. I didn’t read the article so I don’t know what it says.

It makes "driver shortage " articles look well researched.

Well I’m no fan of the current administration, but I’m usually a little skeptical when Sean Hannity seems overly outraged by something.
