state needs to pay for welfare, they will ticket you to death. If your insurance increases it will be the end of you.

I suspect older trucks going to go through a lot of inspections. A lot. Super detailed to get the OOS rate up for automatic “buhh bye now” from your insurance.

They will lay down tire spikes when they see you coming, and realize that you're doing more than the 19 mph everyone else is doing ;)

That's exactly my thoughts but unfortunately getting everyone on board to actually do it would be impossible

Mechanical governor, they've been around for a hundred years and still work.

OR they tell the states not to register a pre-2000 year truck.

Pretty sure Butt Plug Buttegeige is the one pushing this. along with the other brainless operation Soylent Green cronies. You know they guy that had to take maternity leave ..he's very familiar with truck driving since he's driven before. It's gonna look like Europe..one long line of drone trucks number to bumper in the right lane..how stupid are these people..no common sense?

Close, but not quite. They can and do pass each other quite often. They are limited to 100, but they have a speed limit based upon their gross weight and road type (or in some urban areas, varying limits via automation to avoid backups) of 70/80/90/100kph. If a 100 class comes upon a 90 class, he can and will pull out to pass as soon as he can.

They also have a lot better lane discipline than Americans. Nobody gets on the highway and makes a nose-dive for the left lane until their exit where they dive across all the lanes at the last minute to exit. EVERYONE keeps right except to pass.
They already do that. we have a local driver here who was an independent O/O with his own authority, a few different trucks/trailers, and his personal was a 99 Classic XL. When the ELD mandate kicked in, he found himself being nit-picked to death by the DOT... one of the officers even admitted it by saying the only reason someone would drive a truck that old was if he was trying to skirt the law. This guy got fed up and sold everything off, retired to his farm for a while, and then hired on here locally for the health insurance (his wife was about to retire and her employer was their source for insurance).

cke, RJM1953, haycarter and 4 others Thank this.
