I don’t mean to sound like an old grumpy jerk but I’m just curious why 75% of the drivers are hauling ### in the truck stops? I’m at the Loves in St. Louis and it’s crazy. Just saw a guy lock em up because he was doing about 30mph around a corner and another guy was backing in. WTH? I get that we are all under pressure from the ELD’s but it’s gotten crazy in most truck stops. Just my opinion.

Few years back I was at the Sheetz in Mt. Jackson, VA, and this parking lot was grabbing gears in the lot...he grabbed at least 6, then locked em up because he nearly creamed a guy coming around the corner... gets around the corner and proceeds to do the same #### thing again. Some people just DGAF.

Time to open a Moonscape Lot Business for truckstops coast to coast. For a small monitoring fee until craters naturally (Organic, no GMO etc) reach optimium size you get to have the trucks slow down or get totaled.

    Isn't this FUN? /sarc.

That’s what I like about our grandfathered ELDs. I can come into a truck stop, stop momentarily and change to Off Duty and as long as I stay under 25 mph I can take my time getting to a safe spot and back in safely and not feel rushed and potentially waste 12 or more minutes if things are moving real slow.

I’m making plans to do something else when we might likely be forced to move to some other BS ELD later this year.

Been almost hit a couple of times walking to the main building at a truck stop. Or while backing it's just crazy.

People have been killed in truck stops. It is the age of the ELD but we need to put human life and property over the all fired hurry. There is no need to go 40+ thru the TS parking lot. Slow down you guys and gals and let's live to drive another day.
Badmon, Gutter and luddybuddy Thank this.

Sadly there is no happy medium. Knuckle draggers either drive hammer down and screaming Jake's through the lot, or creeping along in 1st gear at 1.9mph cuz they gotta cheat that ELD and maximize every last second so they can show the man, and beat the system. :(

Or maybe they arent trying to "cheat that ELD" and are being safe drivers in a dangerous parking lot. I personally roll slowly, day or night, rain or shine because of the liklihood somone will pop out from between trucks or some other driver will come flying around a corner. Maybe not 1.9mph but i roll slow, nothing at all to do with eld.

But there’s such a thing as too slow.
If you get passed a lot in truckstops then get with the program!
sevenmph, Coover and jammer910Z Thank this.
