I had some trouble with household stuff one month and it was sufficiently distracting to cause one of our vehicles not to be renewed for a period of time. State trooper corraled me on that and normally stated that he would warn at a certain amount of days after and let go. But too many weeks have passed for a simple warning. So the ticket came down and 200 fine plus the tags are hot stuff now and the revenuer will likely have something to say about that later.

I went to the local PD and paid the ticket before the trooper had a chance to get lunch (It was about that time of day) at the local level and had a new set of tags 10 minutes after that next door at the revenuer.

Now something like that would show up on my record. But since it was taken care of so fast with the fine plus fees to the State it was treated as a large donation for teddy bears for children or some such beneficial program instead. Nothing ever showed up.

One day Ohio got me for 14 over 12 miles from Indiana in a convoy of 4 on the toll road by laser, happened to be one of the first targeted by that device for enforcement. The 4 of us all got tickets and I think two were existing warrants or several other seriously deep problems. So it did not go well for them. They said they had us at the 13 and we should not be so happy go lucky blowing by that particular yardstick when we did.

I paid the ticket I think it was 80 dollars in fines that day for Toledo and that was that besides the points assessed on my DMV record later on. (I think it was three something on a pile of tickets at that time, my first CMV speeding ticket though with the then new CDL.)

What really got the State Police going was I was a regular attendee at our Laser Storm/Photon type laser games where humans are fitted with RFID or similar technology and red team versus green team etc. And I had a laser storm shirt on that day. So to be wearing that shirt and brought down by a actual laser made for a interesting series of converstations. I particpated in laser gaming most of my life, my last one involved two State Troopers for opponets in Maryland at Frederick and it was a draw. But those two were very extreme formidable teamwork. Not to mention with them being off duty and have that mental block of going after troopers for fun. They were very very good at it using their training to hunt me into a corner. (I usually hunt, I don't get hunted like that.... so that was a learning experience)

Anyway that's for my part with speeding tickets and all the other stuff.

If you can find a prosecutor at the courthouse for a ticket that has a ability to continue to do damage on the original charge in a variety of ways such as your hireability, insurance and so on... I would have a converstation with that Prosecutor over lunch (My treat no strings) and see what would be possible to plead guilty to a lessor charge with the possibility of splitting the difference between the original fine and lawyer fees into something that will pay the penalty in the lessor charge in full and a little something extra for the town wherever they think best to put the money. If it's one thing about towns, if you are nice about it they might cotton to the idea that perhaps a small donation for a program or situation that can use a few dollars unrelated to the enforcement will make everything a little bit better for all concerned.

This does not mean buy your way out. You want to plead to something and have a little extra for the town. For example The Fire Dept usually needs funding for a variety of needful things that possibly could save lives.

And in some point in the future if you adjust a little bit even this will be a passing memory.

I hate to be difficult but in my time the Police were not stupid at all and I would be so lucky that they cared enough to visit for coffee with pointed converstation at my work regarding fast cars in general. They were very good about it. But quite frankly it's way better not to be speeding if at all possible.

It doesn't go on psp unless you get inspected.

Just about every ticket is worth fighting. You probably won't get it dismissed but you'll usually get it lowered to some other bs charge. And you'll still have the pay the full fine. But at least it won't be on your record.

The just about part. States like Wy and NM don't allow fights. Lawyers won't even bother wanting your money.
