According to google.
2 tickets in 3 years is 60 days federal suspension. 3 tickets is 120 days.
Doesn't say overage.
It also says retaking the tests.
There's too much info for a screenshot to be posted. But it also lists other things that can lead to suspension.
Seems like i got a warning from the state for one 10 mph over. 5 years ago.
ANY time you get a moving violation of ANY kind. You get a lawyer. Unless you're in Wyoming or new Mexico. You're screwed no matter what. I don't know what other states hate truckers.
A lawyer can represent you and get the ticket changed to something else. Non moving violation. You still pay the fine plus lawyer fee. But protecting your driving record is what's important.
Speeding ticket 15 mph over (16-20)

I had a reason to ask where this happened.
Some states will allow you to reopen a ticket, as long as it is not criminal like it is I think in Arizona.
It takes time and the judge/referee can reduce the ticket to what they feel is justified, but chances are you will have the same fine and depending on the state the same points.
However, your ticket is already in the system, it won't vanish but show up as reduced with the original charge. This is where the insurance companies will not insure you. They don't give a crap what the circumstances were, 15 or even in some cases 10 over will stop a driver from being employed.
When I hire someone, there is an MVR check, a background check, and so on, but when I send the info to the underwriter, she will pull a pretty comprehensive report on the driving record, and it does show a lot more, she will decide who gets hired at that point.wis bang, tscottme, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
So basically everybody saying 15+ your f***** and 14 less you still f*****? Thanks for all the help but it seem like no matter what everybody saying I’m messed up. I’m walking in faith a with god that everything will be ok. It can’t be the end of the world if people get in truck accidents an still drive.
Numb Thanks this. -
The 15 and over is considered a serious violation per FMCSA and your CDL will be suspended for a period of time if you obtain two serious violations in a year.. other serious violations like following too close get you a vacation..any combination of two.
Under fifteen tickets are nothing to sneeze at also in this business. This is where Fmcsa doesn’t hold it against you however an insurance company or carrier can. It really comes down to their own discretion if they want to insure you or if the carrier wants to trust and hire you.
Shouldn’t be impossible to find another job but it’s never going to be easy. Searching for a job when your ticket is fresh is going to be a challenge but over time it’ll get easier.
Try Schneider as I mentioned previously..
Good luck -
Some companies that might hire:
> MET (Metropolitan Express)
3 months of CDL-A Tractor Trailer experience in the last year with an accredited CDL.
No 20+ speeding ticket in the last 3 years.
I think MET was bought out by PAM but I don't know.
> RBI (Robert Bearden Inc. Valdosta GA) I think they require 1 year experience but you'd have to call them
No speeding in excess of 19 mph over speed limit
No reckless driving charges
No license suspensions due to points
No DUI or DWI
No driving while license suspended
No chargeable accidents in the past 12 months
> Davis Transfer, Starke FL. Call and find out their definition of a "serious moving violation"
Must have at least 6 months Tractor Trailer experience within the last 5 years.
No more than three (3) moving violations in the past (3) years
No more than three (3) preventable accidents/incidents in the last three (3) years
No serious moving violations in the last three (3) years and no more than one (1) in the last five (5) years
No DUI, DWI, drug or alcohol convictions in the past five (5) years
Disclaimer: I haven't worked for any of these companies. Hoping something works out for you. Best of luck!tscottme Thanks this. -
Once you understand driving a big truck means not giving people an excuse to come take lots of your money because they want it you drive differently than if you see driving a big truck as a way just to get a paycheck. ONLY you can protect your license. If you don't protect it it will go away along with lots of your money. -
It is just another tool to use. And if, maybe, that warning of a speed limit change had sounded the driver might have not gotten the ticket.
I'm sure we have all missed that speed limit sign at some point in our travels. Tucked away behind that tree with no warning sign about the speed limit change up ahead because it IS a speed trap.
The GPS will often times give that warning so you can be on the lookout for the sign, or to just be slowing down in anticipation of it as you are coming into a town. -
Is your faith in God to expect God do your will, or for you to do God's will?
Reflect on that, young grasshopper.Numb Thanks this. -

Allow me to be the first to suggest...
Visit your doctor, and get some Ozempic for that heavy foot of yours.
Maybe you have a fake foot, if so, get something other than lead.
(All of the above and below is humor, there is nothing serious or mean about it. Just humor. I promise)
