Speeding Ticket, 87 in an 80 in personal car, should I fight it

If you are intent on it get it locally to St Georges. The Judge there will respect a local laywer more than some big mucky mucky poobay from out of state.

 

As far as I know, with a commercial license you cannot get speeding tickets amended. Someone with more experience will be along soon.

 

My first point is slow down, guard that CDL like you would if it were your life savings. Next point is even at the worst a 7 over ticket should not be too serious a problem if your driving record is clean. As to your main questions, I suggest making some phone calls to where the court is and ask some attorneys. You are asking a question where a lot of the commenters here disagree. The getting it fixed or reduced is going to be up to that court.

 

If you can get an attorney and get them to negotiate that ticket down to 5 over the limit you wont even get any points on your CDL.... PSP, CSA, or what ever it is that points show up for CDL drivers.

 

Sure you can..
some states don’t allow defensive driving school but getting them reduced or changed happens all the time

 

Even a warning shows up. Needs to be a non moving violation

 

A lot of “top tier” companies won’t touch you with 3 points. I suggest always getting a lawyer and fighting it till the end
