Fight it. You may get a BS ticket where a cop lies later. In illinois it's 3 tickets and you lose your license.

Fight any ticket you get. A cop doesn't need to know the laws hes enforcing, dont believe anything youre told by a cop.
Might want to check interstatetrucker.com. 80 wasn't fast enough huh?

I think it's worse! Most people know the federal marshals is a myth, but most believe that even the smell of infraction will give you CSA points!

Use a lawyer from the county in Utah. The lawyer may get it reduced to less than 5 mph over the limit. It will cost you at least $500 in lawyer fees. Plus the ticket cost. My lawyer got mine reduced to 3 mph over the limit. Both the judge and my lawyer said that due to the Patriot Act, a cdl driver cant have a speeding ticket expunged, but it can be reduced.

I do not speed, but I failed to reduce speed when the speed limit decreased...my bad.

Depends what you value most, your clean record or your bank balance although getting a speeding ticket in no way prevents you from getting another driving job unless you got a lot in a short space of time, as no one is perfect, one or two tickets in 3 years is not the end of the world however yeah if you want to keep your record spotless and your not worried about the cost then by all means hire a defense attorney after all those guys have got to make a living too.

I got a ticket awhile ago. It was in a small town they reduced it down to a parking ticket. It cost me $150 no points or moving violation. I now run a really good radar detector in my car. You cannot put a radar detector in a cmv but it's legal in most states for car use. I'm not a huge speeder but it still helps protect me. It's too easy to get a ticket. Especially in the small towns. It's nothing more then a revenue machine.

There is language in the Patriot Act, the post 911 legislation, about cdl holders and tickets....probably a bigger issue for port cities.
Not all magistrates follow it....depends on the state, and the judge. Mine was in TN.

I am sure others have been able to get their ticket dismissed.
