This honesty is the best policy BS needs to go. If the op passes the background and this ticket isn't on his MVR don't put it on your app. I have friends who are in great companies and been their for awhile. They've been fired multiple times and don't put it on the app. They got the job and still there. Every trucking company has their own dishonesty one way or another and they put us through some crap with their rules. Even the best. If this isn't on the MVR now their not gonna find out. They pull your MVR every year to see if you got a ticket with them. If it's there and they ask just tell them crap I totally forgot. Which if it didn't happen during your time with them they'll let it go. Also it cost a lot to hire you too hard just to fire you unles you work for crappy mega Carrier company. Also this ticket wasn't on a CDL so companies can look past it. Once you get that CDL you must appreciate it like gold. Stop speeding on your off time and on duty time if you every want a premium job in this industry.

This honestly the best answer I have received, thank you. -
Just admit to a speeding ticket may close a few doors but plenty will be open... DONT admit to the severity leave that for them to find or not find if they can't find it then all good if they do then they would of anyways.....
I got a job with an at fault rear end... You can find the post if your interested and retained the job after a 6 to 10 over warning... I plan to stay here until I can find a local company either LTL or fuel tankers that will take me on... Might go it my local poultry plant though cause I here I can make 55 to 60k and home everyday weekends off tough to get on though as not many openings but I have a connection there -
It is possible that when the clerk logged the ticket to your driving record that it was incorrectly logged. About 10 years ago I had a faulty equipment ticket logged as a seatbelt violation. This might explain it, but it could be possible that the ticket was entirely overlooked by the state agency responsible for adding it to your record.....
Sorry misread post here...Evox760 Thanks this. -
Check your dac through hireright just cause it's not on mvr doesn't mean it isn't showing up somewhere else...actually had it happen ticket was columbus ohio city cop...didn't show on mvr but showed up on report from hireright

Absolutely Not accurate...
First, he does not have a CDL yet.. there are several more times his MVR is going to be checked...
1. When he fills out the application his MVR will be run, along with a cursory background check
2. If he hasn't already, when he goes to get a CDP
3.If they decide to send him to orientation, another MVR by the company as well as the insurance company along with a more detailed background check
4.when he goes to get his CDL again his MVR will be checked... and if he is getting the hazmat endorsement than another detailed background check
5. When he finishes training, before being assigned a truck his MVR will be run
6. Companies regularly run drivers MVR, it is not a one and done, and especially with new CDL drivers.
7. The companies insurance company also regularly runs drivers MVR
Now, there have been drivers who were hired, out driving and pulled off the truck and fired when their MVR or another background check was run and something was discovered.
Now, an important thing to consider, is that there are many companies that will hire a driver even with an excessive speeding ticket.
But, if a driver lies on their application, like about a speeding ticket, and the company discovers it and fires them. They do not fire them for having the speeding ticket. They fire the for Fraud. It becomes much harder to get hired at any job with a claim of fraud.
Now, you stated in a post, responding to my questioning of your common sense, that you have done hours of research.
Well, now let me also inform you that you also lack research skills. Because in your research you should of discovered that their can be legal ramifications for lying on a resume or an application, from fines to jail time.
Here is something you may want to research before you make you decision.
"After-acquired evidence" What that is, is that if an employment relationship is was found to be based on fraudulent information to start with, illegal acts which occurred during the employment relationship are not actionable by law. Meaning you would have no legal recourse against the illegal actions of the employer.
For most, with even the smallest amount of common sense would not be willing to give up what limited rights they have have in an employment relationship with a trucking company.
So, let me be clear, if you lie on your application, you are giving up what little rights you have as an employee.
If someone illegally breaks into my house, trips on my rug and is seriously injured. They can not sue me. They were there illegally..
If you go to work for someone base on falsehood, you are there illegally, and can not sue them.
Even if they do something illegal... say for example, you are out with your trainer, two days before payday and broke. The company runs your MVR, discovers your ticket, calls your trainer and tells him to kick you off the truck now. So the trainer pulls over on the side of the road and kicks you out. You have zero legal recourse. You do not have the same rights as someone who was honest on their application.
You want to know why I said that you will be chewed up and spat out in this industry... because of your willingness to give up what little legal rights you will have..
While you, and clearly from the responses, many others are not aware of After-acquired evidence and the risky legal ramifications of lying on an application.. Most trucking companies are well aware of it... not only that, but this is an industry where the companies notoriously push and often cross the line of employee rights..
You are covering yourself in chum and getting ready to dive into shark infested waters thinking you are going go for a lovely lovely swim. -
How far do they go back I have my passport passed my hazmat back ground thinking of training at Palmer also
