It seems that my speedometer is bad on my 379 pete. Speedo starts jumping all over the place, seems like it's hesitating, and I can't set my cruise control. Is the sensor on the transmission?? Where can I find it? Trying to see if this is something I can replace myself.

ck rear tail of trans wires lead U there 1 nut holds on $35
-
its easy to do just make sure you use good connectors and and set it at the depth

First check that the trans yoke is tight, a loose yoke will let the sensor ring spin. The sensor is right in the tail housing. It could be really easy to change, or if it's stuck, it could be pretty hard to get out out and clean the hole for the new one. There should be no adjustment on an 05, it just pushes in 1 bolt holds it in place.
Many have a second sensor hole that is not used and plugged with a plastic cap. If it becomes a problem to get out, you can put a new one in the other hole. Make sure you put anti-sieze on it, or at least some grease to help keep it from rusting in there.
