I just bought a 2000 Pete 379 with a C10 and spicer 10 speed tranny. Tranny is on its last leg and needs to go and I want to swap to Eaton anyway. I would really love some help and direction on what I need in order to make it happen.
I know I will probably have to have the drive shaft shortened. The main issue is finding a tranny that will work. I'm wanting to find a good used or rebuilt. I do city hauling so I don't even know if a 13 will be much benefit over just getting an eaton 10. Any thoughts?
And does anyone know what eaton tranny model I should be trying to find, or ones to stay away from?
