Can you take the doser valve off and clean it. Some times it gets full of soot and gets stuck.
Not all trucks are this easy but some are. This may not help. But it's worth the ten mins to try n find out.

By the way does that OTR reset work for you? I didn't think it would reset a derate in a serious after treatment problem situation or at 5mph..

The OTR tool can reset most codes not related to derate by just plugging it in. I've got an outlet NOx sensor with FMI 12 that pops up every now and then without a derate that I can just clear. I'm not sure about the subscription based tool/app that they also have. This is also for a 2012 Volvo engine, so I don't know if it works the same for Cummins and other manufacturers or years.

If there is a soot level related derate, then the reset procedure can be performed which clears the codes and resets the soot level, which allows you to continue without a derate. It does not perform an actual regen, the truck is not running during this. So you can run a soot level to critical and alarms will be ringing and the dash will pop up with warnings, but you can clear it and continue the next time you stop.

If you get an SCR code with a derate, then it gets complicated. You can clear the codes, but the derate remains until you can perform an actual regen. In this case, you will get the engine to operating temperature, then perform the force regen procedure. It will run a regen, so be prepared to wait an hour or so regardless of your soot levels. If you stop it early, the derate remains. I'm not sure if it always removes the derate at the end, but if you didn't fix the underlying issue, then the code will pop up again and you will have to perform a regen next time you stop.

The best thing to do is to fix the SCR issues rather than run regens every time you stop. A good system should never really need to perform a parked regen, and I don't think it's good for the components in the long term to perform a regen every day, plus it wastes fuel. It is good to use to be able to make delivery, or if you want to perform your own repairs and don't want to pay the dealer crazy money to perform a regen.

appreciate the input. Im looking at a 1682 code where apparently the pump isn't priming plus a leak at the base of the pump when engine is running. Im at a derate with maybe an hour left- at least truck is at home
