TQL has gotten really bad at setting up a load with a ratecon then cancelling it at the last minute. My last 2 loads that I "tried" to haul for them, they sent me an email a couple hours before the pickup and cancelled it. Obviously they found some poor sucker to haul it cheaper than me. I'm done with them, and pretty much done with DAT. I realize rates are down, but most of the brokers there are only interested in moving it at the last minute and at the cheapest rate. Nobody is interested in building regulard clients any longer. I'll stick with my clients and Convoy. At least I know I'll get at least $2.50 a mile there in my lane.
Hoping it works out for you. If we worked the same market section, I'd gladly work with you, but then I think you already know that.
70%. Theyre trailer newer models. Im avg this QTR 2.10mi to truck based on odometer loaded only after expenses im at 1.72 i use Fogline software. 95% of the loads im pulling have been our contract loads. They keep me moving and they pay better than spot . Some areas like MI IL parts of IA i do better on spot market. At end of the day our loads pay 1.72 1.82 mile range on contract loads to the truck. PA loads pay 2.43 to truck. We get discount fuel discount toll. Shop rates and parts discounted. Im doing ok here head above water i run my own registration and insurance . 2016 Glider Coronado with a 2450.00 note insurance included.
************************************************************************************** You are absolutely correct with TQL. They are the cheapest guys on the board. When I call them (only at the last minute) I go for loads that are shipping today and give them my rate. If they don't take it I say Thanks Anyway and leave my number in case they can't get it covered. When my phone rings with the TQL guy I know I've got him over a barrel. The best deal yet was $1,700 for two skids going from upstate NY to Long Island.
TQL can pay just as good as any other broker. Coyote, who I consider cheaper than TQL, gave me the best rate ever; $4500 for Chicago to Florence, SC...try to convince them to pay that now. What distinguishes TQL from the rest is their alleged mischievous tactics that were reported here many times. However, I'd be dishonest, if I said that I was ever treated harm ways by them. I have to admit though, whenever I deal with them, I am super fastidious about anything said and decided. I gotta connect with the person I talk to, grow some confidence and be sure that that guy has integrity. Often, when I hear a teenager voice calling me a bro or a dude, I end it right there... No loose ends.
Hiow the He11 did you pull that one off? Thats $5 per mile on a lane EVERYBODY wants (No tolls,Good return hauls etc) Thats a $1500 move today.
It was late afternoon on December 30th 2017 and 5 degrees of Fahrenheit outside....load to be delivered on January 2nd 2018. It had nothing to do with me having some bargaining skills...I think they posted that load for 4K before I called on it. lol.
Wow. My best load ever was $5k, but that was Montana to Orlando. But.....it was 10' of space and about 2k so I'm still smiling about it.
