They didn't do a lot of sanding or prep work. The cars back then would have little chrome name plates like "Impala" etc and they would just paint right over them if you didn't take them off. But the cars looked good right after they got done, so if you were selling the car you were good. Scheib painted cars for 29.95 in the 60’s.
