I'm starting my new job this week and was wondering how you can judge your weight besides the air gauge on the drives if your trailer doesn't have a gauge?

If it's a spread you shouldn't have to worry about it

If they are loading it equally and not piling it all in the back of the trailer you will know when you are close by your truck gauge. You soon learn to what level you can fill the box. The thing that will throw you off is when it rains... #### gets heavy really quick.

Didn't even think about that. I'm gonna guess dot doesn't care. Overweight is overweight either its 25 ton wet or dry

Depending on the loader they are usually pretty good at getting close. On my 39 ft east spread (al frame). Hauling steel bushling or say cast iron borings. If the material is heavy. I can open my gate and not have any product fall out.
When you look from the front you would think that you would be heavy on the drives . A big pile in the front tapering down to the rear.
You need to keep in mind the center of the trailer is half the distance between the king pin and the center of the spread. Not the center of the box..

Any decent loader has scales on it....
With a good operator they do all right ..
