No, you have that absolutely correct. I just use the term "throttling" because basically it works the same way for us end users.

    LOL...

Man you've been preaching that whole Sprint is expanding and has more towers schpeal for over a year now. You were telling me how great Sprint was when I invited you to a head to head test of Verizon to Sprint. I even came out west and ran tbe same exact lanes you were running. Posted my results and you only made excuses for Sprints short coming as I made post after post, showing Verizon smoking any and all who wanted to compare network data speeds vs foot print area.

If Sprint is so great.. here we are.. 1 year later. Have they done enough to even compete with Verizon yet? Would you like to go head to head again? I'll come back out west and run your same lanes again and we can compare network speed and footprint quality of service area. I'll challenge anyone who thinks they have a better service than Verizon. Not talking about affordable phone bills... I'm talking about quality of service and national foot print service area. I mean.. its obvious to assume if I can pull a 20 - 40 mbit data signal in a remote area.. I do have voice as well.. correct?

What say you Snowman? Care to challenge Verizon vs your Sprint... again?

    I call BS.

4g and 4g LTE.. are 2 completely different signals and not compatable with each other. This was the big issue when LTE phones first came out as 4g was just starting get a decent foot print and the new phone with LTE would revert back to 3g when no LTE signal was available. Most carriers upped the 3g speed to compensate.

I dont know of any phones that could do 4g and LTE together.. it was one or the other.

Yes they are two different signals but you can disable the LTE antenna and just run HSDPA/UMTS. I do it but the time.

I knew people who got that thunderbolt from Verizon when it first came out and disabled the LTE antenna because it ate up the battery.

Why would I lie about that? I've done it before manually and my phone routinely only picks up 4G. Don't believe me, call T-Mobile.

I didnt mean to insinuate you are a lair... just misunderstanding the difference between 4g and 4g LTE. I apologize.

This has been coming for a while now. Everything under the sun can be done over your phone now. I have a cable from my Iphone 6+ to HDMI to my TV. Things are changing at a very rapid pace. Everyone is watching Youtube, Netflix and all their favorite channels and movies from their home cable provider. I went from using pretty much nothing to an enormous amount of data. I just checked my phone. In 2 days and 7 hours I've used 271GB alone and I'm not a real heavy user.

I think your going to see everyone starting to cut back on plans.

With the advent of GIG Ethernet for homes you pay for quality of service. That means you pay for how much speed you want. Those fiber optic cables in populated areas can handle a ton of data. Here's an example. A fiber optic cable can transfer 650 DVD movies per second!!! There's really no limit. A fiber optic cable is the size of a paper clip. Put 100 of those in a cable jacket and you can now transfer 65,000 DVD movies per second!!!

Keep in mind. Doesn't matter how fast your internet connection is. Your still held back by the site your connected to. You may have 100,000,000,000 MB's per second but your still only get 500k a second accessing this site when it's busy.

Apology accepted. I don't know much on the internal workings of data connections but when I'm watching netflix and suddenly it stops working. I switch and the phone changes from LTE to just 4G and then it works again.
